2018-07-29: 30 minutes practicing Low Income Blues rhythm guitar and 15 minutes Low Income Blues Solo 1. Rhythm guitar is easy, however the solo is more difficult than expected.

2018-07-05: 45 minutes practicing E7, A7, B7 arpeggio. It's getting pretty good. I find it difficult to remember the notes and the fingering.

15 minutes practicing That Rippin' Fast Lick. I'm nowhere from full speed... I've never been able to play fast. What is the trick?

Okay, I don't think I will write down all the practices I do... That's too many details for me. However, I will still write down what I'm working on.

Right now I'm digging into Low Income Blues, mostly solo 2 and 3. Solo 1 is complete! Not really good, but at least it's similar to what Robert is doing.

Here's a recording of it!

It's good, Sebastien. You changed the phrasing a bit, and that's cool. However, I also encourage you to try with the exact phrasing as in the lesson, for learning purposes. It's good to force the brain to try new things. You can always give up things later!

Hi Robert! Thanks for your comments. I think I see what you mean by the phrasing... I tried once more, and I believe this shot is better. Let me know what you think about this one!

Nice work! You played the solo so well! The only "problem" is that you started it "too late". The first 3 notes come before the start of the progression. The 4th note comes on the "1".

Also, what is the reason you are using a different backing track? Not that it matters - just curious.

Really well played! Do it again, and start it at the right spot? Look at the tab or soundslice version.

Hi Robert,

Thanks again for your comments. I know I have alot of difficulties with the tempo. Do you have any recommended lessons to get better at that?

In the meantime I tried to redo solos 1 and 2 with the original backing track. The only reason why I didn't use it at first was a software issue. But now I think I have found how to do it.

It's still not perfect, but it's the best recording of the day.

Thanks!

You are starting a beat too late. Look at the Guitar Pro or tab, or even better, the Soundslice version. Just follow along with the Soundslice version. You can slow down and make the video and tab the same size by dragging the vertical bar between the video and the tab.

Look at the progress indicator too, at the bottom.

Finally, counting out loud helps, for each lick.

To go full screen in Soundslice, click the gear icon in the bottom right, and then the full screen button.

Today I practiced the beginners blues in key of A. It took me almost 5 hours to get it. Not perfect, especially the last lick around the 20th fret... This one was tough... But somehow I expect that it is not too bad. Here it is:

By the way, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post my recordings? Should I post the recordings in the lesson's thread instead? At least here I can easily track my work.

Thanks all,

Sebastien
