I've started off with learning a song a day, which includes refreshing and getting details on songs I used to play or just play enough to call it close.

And the goal of recording at least once a week if not more, be it good, bad or ugly.  I need to get really comfortable with whatever sound I make, and to make it simple to hit the red button and play or create.

My short term goal is to learn the Beginner Blues Tune.  Its not that hard just have to sink it into my muscle memory. When I think I have it I’ll record and post it. Yeah

My goal is to practice more. I would also like to transcribe more solos and songs, so that I get new ideas and inspiration. It's easy to play the same old things over and over again, and I don't want my lessons to all sound too similar.

My goal for 2022 is to continue, like in the past year and a half,  to work on the small steps to improve my guitar playing a bit.

And I will continue to write down in my practice log what I’m currently working on and to share recordings/videos. That also helps me stay disciplined.

I will publish a little less because I decided to take up my neglected E-piano playing parallel to my guitar practice.

Let’s see how it works,

Birgit

My goal is not real exiting, i go further where i stopped in 2021.

Practicing and playing with fun!

I started in December 2021 with the first solo KWS-Never looking back. And hope learn that solo together with the first solo SRV-Tightrope. And with the band we wanna start with Gary Moore - Still got the blues. This for me a challenge. But i give it a try. 😀

And i hope de band is coming soon back, we are lot in lock down.

@blues-lover

André, I just watched the videos KWS - Never looking back and SRV - Tightrope on Youtube. I didn’t know the songs before. But I’m thrilled – what a power 👍.

So don’t say „My goal is not really exiting“. It is exiting!

I’m sure that you can get through the lockdown having a lot of fun practicing these solos. As you say „give it a try“.

All the best,

Birgit

@bluesiline Thank you so much for your kind words Birgit! 👍

Yeah these are the solo's ik like very much.
And i love the power these great guitar players use.
These two solo where always a wish to play.
And now we are a long time in lock down, and now is it a good time try practice it. My minds has always the motivated to practice this kind of solo's, but my 58 years hands has not always the power. 😊

If my wish come true to play these solo, than is the video camera ready to record it. 😀

@bluesiline Tightrope is one of an entirely awesome album "In Step" that showcases SRV & Double Trouble, following SRV in recovery.  Those guys opened into a whole new world of writing and playing blues into a future cut brutally short by an accident killing SRV.

Check out Wall of Denial, Travis Walk, and Riviera Paradise.

Now that you mention it, @blues-lover I will put Riviera Paradise on my to do list!  I know Esteban played a pretty good opening of that song ( which I believe was T-Bone Walker style influenced).

Play on MGA Members, and always be sure to have fun, even when you are struggling to get that finger placed right.

Hopefully play more.

Go over the old songs I wrote some years ago.

Want to buy a cheap trem pedal. I saw Amazon had one for 30 bucks. Looks good and sounded good, so if available here, I might buy buy it.

Want to continue cycling all Japan starting in May.

It weird because I got old ( in numbers that is ) so fast, but I still have dreams of doing what is important to me.

Do need to learn a few songs this time around.

And hopefully stay a member here.  As always, a money crises awaits at the front door.

Yes, inflation is bad here. Gas about $6.60 a gallon.

cycling " free "  no bicycle tax yet  lol

Hai!

As for non-music, still on schedule for the reset of cycling Mallorca and jamming with Esteban in Barcelona this May (just a little two year delay 😎).

I’d like to hear your tunes Clayton.

Let's see if I can get that started this weekend!

Meanwhile, here's another link to my Thursday Late Night basement jam.  I'm on Bass and the entire session, as always, is entirely unscripted improvisation.  One guitar player adds lyrics on the fly. Double entendre and satire rules- Nothing is sacred.

Temple of the Corn Dog

Recording quality is excellent for a rustic farmhouse basement.  Do yourself a favor and listen with headphones or a nice set of speakers.

@clayton cool sounds Clayton. I like the improv approach to jamming. It brings out creativity and if it all gels you may end up with a hit.
