That was a fine effort, do you practice with a metronome?

How long have you been playing?

@wobbly_bob

Thank you, Bob. I do need to practice more with a metronome.

I've been playing for two years.

That's kicking it for 2 years!  Seems like you have a good grasp of note positions up and down the fretboard.   I know Robert has a couple of really great country licks that'll do you fine. And remember, that 2, b3, 3 set of notes in major is the same as 4, b5, 5 in the relative minor.  You blues scale right there relative to the country scale.

Hats off to you for posting!!

Excellent! A very noble effort. That was a lot of picking and a pretty brisk pace, covering a lot of strings and a lot of the fretboard. No easy feat. As Wobbly mentioned perhaps a little time with a metronome will help you polish it up in a short amount of time.

I look forward to the next take! Keep it going!

@clayton

Thank you! I really appreciate the feedback. It’s taken a lot of work getting this far, but realize I’m not there yet. 🤓

Thanks a lot. I’m slightly embarrassed to put it up for review knowing it still needs a lot of work, but I trust I have a friendly audience, such as yourself. Thanks again for your kind words of encouragement.

Putting up a performance is a big step in growth.  There's always another step so you can't wait til you're where you want to be.  Keep picking and grinning- your contribution has great value to members at MGA.  Inspiring.

No need to feel any embarrassment, I hope I was not the cause of it!. You did a great job with a tricky piece. We are all moving forward along the same road. I hope you will post another video soon.

Chris, you're not the cause, it's simply my own insecurity. 😉 Thanks again for your words of encouragement. Yes, it's a tricky piece that I hope to master someday. I'm also working on a James Burton solo, and a very advanced Wes Montgomery style piece. I'm very ambitious and hope to achieve a lot in the next two years. With that said, I have no plans to perform...I'm just moving forward and hope to exceed my own expectations. Thanks again for your encouragement.

@sgmoct look at some of the stuff I have put up for review and you'll feel a lot better about yourself 🤣 😊

Thanks for sharing.  Very impressive playing after just two years.  I'm looking forward to your posting more to document your progress.

@matonanjin

Thanks! I'll check out your videos. 🙂 We do it because we love it. I know I do. There are other things I'm much better at, but learning to play guitar will always challenging and enjoyable.
