Let’s take a look at how we can find them for a blues in E. I’m deliberately staying close to the Minor Pentatonic Box 1, just make it as simple as I can.

I decided to use the minor 3rd and bending about a half-step. Hopefully that doesn’t confuse anyone? The chord tone is really a major 3rd, but by bending it this way, we make it more bluesy!
