Actually I should say " the joy of buying a Covid19 new guitar ".  Why, for one thing, seems like staying around the house seems to be the new trend. So what does that mean, hopefully more guitar playing time.

Anyway, I recently discovered on YouTube that a few people do guitar reviews. Yes, I know, behind times, but when the bank account says you need to deposit money or account will be closed due to lack of funds, well, you just don't go on YouTube and look for reviews of gear.

Thanks to them American stimulus checks ( yes, Americans overseas get them also ) I was able to put aside some Covid 19 ( I want to buy something ) music equipment.

Much to my surprise ( I think the computer was reading my mind ), reviews of guitars popped up.

A review of the Donner thin-line Telecaster caught my eye.

This JAZZ Thinline wants to ROCK | Donner DJC-1000S Telecaster Guitar - Bing video

The above video goes into the good and bad.

I haven't recorded any thing on it yet, but I'm satisfied with it. It cost about 180 bucks. But knowing a little about manufacturing prices in China, I'd put the real worth at around 40 bucks wholesale price.  The hummbucking pickups are very comparable to the 490's on the Gibson Les Paul Studio guitar. The pickups are sweet and mellow in tone, high quality and I mean it.

The overall about the guitar.

1.  finish job is that of a craftman

2.  tuners are of the cheapest ones that could be put on the guitar, but guitar does stay in tune

3. neck is maple and the the fretboard has a slab of maple too, I found that unusual

4.  the bridge tail piece is OK, looking to change it though

5.  the guitar came with a nice case, strap and nice heavy cable

6.  guitar is now sold out in America and Canada  ( I guess it is a hot guitar )  but if you find it online for more then 180 bucks, believe me I feel you'd be paying too much. Save another 150 bucks and go for the Squier Thin-line Tele made in Indonesia  ( I'll probably sell this Donner and eventually go for the Squier )

7.  the guitar does have a fast action neck

8.  I put 8's-38's and they actually feel like 9's on the guitar, not sure why though

9.  the intonation on the guitar is workable, no problem on that

To spice things up I'm putting gold parts on the guitar. I found some gold screws for the pickguard which is shown in the picture. Looking now for other gold parts . ( doesn't cost too much for these options)
