This handy app has some great plug and play presets that you can adjust, tailor and even create your own presets and even virtual pedalboards.  The folks at Ultimate Guitar have wisely set this virtual amp/cab/effects software out as FREE.

The presets are not only a starting point, they are also informative as to how to use gear to get sounds that you want.

I use this on my iPad as a stand alone app, and it also works as a plug-in to Garageband so I don't waste time trying to find the sound if I want to record an idea.

This is lots of fun.  Here's a demo:

@clayton, I downloaded Tonebridge from the Google play store via the Android Emulator «Blue Stacks» on my Windows PC. I can hear the different sounds on my PC. Really, really great!

But it doesn’t work for me getting a sound out of my guitar which is plugged into Focusrite Scarlett Solo.

Good for You to give it a try @bluesiline ! Hmmm, is there a PC software version?

I plug my guitar into a Scarlett or Apogee Jam+ into iPad with Tonebridge App. Lots of sound.

@clayton, BlueStacks is a software, an emulator, virtualizing an Android OS on a Windows computer. Within BlueStacks I can download apps from the Google play store which are normally only available on my Samsung Tablet or Handy.

I also run the Justin Sandercoe «Time Trainer Metronome», which is an app for tablet or handy, on my PC using BlueStacks. This works pretty well.

@bluesiline ahhhh, now I get it, in fact, on a mac you can tell it to run in iOS the same way.  Let me know if you figure out the input issue.

And YES, Justin's Time Trainer Metronome and his Ear Trainer apps are fantastic!

AND, for Android only, try Paul David's/Black Envelope app: Loopz.  It's a nice variety of live room drum tracks that you can adjust the tempo.  Great alternative to a metronome.
