Hi,

I would like to hear your opinion on the necessity of having a true bypass feature in your wah pedals. For ages I am using my standard cry baby. Now I have bought a Laney Lionheart L5 Studio Class A tube amp for my living room and I'm shocked on what the pedal does to the sound even when it's not on but in the line.

What do you think? Any recommendations for good and affordable pedals?

Im curious to hear from you.

THX

Frank

That is a good question! I have one wah of each, actually (buffered and true bypass).

A common issue with wah pedals and fuzz pedals is how a buffer reacts with the fuzz. Read more about that here  http://screaminfx.com/tech/wah-before-or-after-fuzz-pedal.htm

You can use a loop pedal to bypass the wah pedal when it's not on. That's a nice solution but requires another pedal obviously. See  http://www.loop-master.com/

Here is nice article you should read : Stop Tone Sucking cheaply and easily in your wah pedal!
