Dear friends,

Thank you so much for your nice comments....Chuck, Eric, Blufly, Al, Ivan, Chris and, of course, Clayton and Robert. All your post encourage me to go 'further on up the road'.......The most important, the trip and the friends. This is what really counts.....

Esteban -

Your guitar playing has come a long way... I'm so glad that we've met here ... very auspicious !

Now I know another guitarist from Spain. I met and got to be liaison for Francisco Sanchez Gomez or as the world knew him: 'Paco De Lucia' when he came to Edmonton for the "Cositas Buenas" (good little things) tour.

My girlfriend and I took Paco and his entire band out to a very nice restaurant and I serenaded them on a grand piano while we had cocktails and dinner. We all had a snowball fight after dinner and then went to tour the city sights. He was smitten with my girlfriend, especially when there was not enough room in the limousine and he had her sit in his lap while we toured the city. That's ok I was having fun with his beautiful tour manager Desideria. What a wild and crazy bunch that night.

Paco sure loved the ladies, red wine and cigarettes. I even got a private glassed off room at the restaurant so he could smoke.  God Bless his soul and may he rest in peace with a harem of singing, dancing angels that can roll a good stogie !

His touring band at the time was Ramón de Algeciras: guitar Rafael Cortés "Duquende": cante Jose Carlos Giménez "Viejín" : guitar - Carles Benavent : bass guitar and mandolin - Jorge Pardo : flute and sax - Joaquín Grilo : baile and percussion - Rubem Dantas : percussion.

I will cherish the memory of Paco and his entourage that touched my life for a brief but lasting moment. I also still have my 8 string guitar that he signed for me. It's even more priceless since Joe Satriani signed it too. Now I just have to remember Desideria's phone number again ... let's see, she lives in Miami Beach and also works with U2 and Bob Dylan ... ahhh it just came back to me  ... 305  *** 3825

Keep inspiring me Esteban !

Dear Clayton and Tawmy,

I sincerely appreciate the time you take to write these words....You/I know very well I will never be an extraordinary guitar player (neither I try)...I have no 'el Duende' (elf). But, I am a very entusiastic student, extraordinarily motivated, wanting to grow every day in everything I do, and with the aim of having the heart a little happier and try that others can also have it for a little while. Nothing else....

Thank you so much guys....I will continue working and sharing as now I am doing.

Esteban

Nice story Tawmy
