I’m interested in the blues. I have some free time as I approach retirement and thought I’d try some of Robrpert’s lessons.

Welcome, you are in the right place to learn some blues and much more.  Be sure to dig into the rhythm section of any Course materials before moving to the solo.

Hi Kureno, great to have you here! There's lots of encouragement happening in the forums. I'd love to hear you play.

Thanks! I’ll need some practice and  more confidence before I post an audio track. The lessons and materials look good, but it all comes down to using them and practicing.

@clayton

Thanks! Yes, I really want to get comfortable with rhythm before going to soloing.

That's it- know the wave, internalize the rhythm, then you can surf to the shore.

Then you are really in the right place.  Robert is religious about the importance of rhythm as a foundation to  play everything else, including soloing.  My first exposure to Robert was his course "Introduction to the Blues".   I knew after completing it I would be playing smoking blues solos slightly better than Clapton 🤣 .  The course is a misnomer.  The entire course is about rhythm.  One only needs to go to the Introduction to it and watch about the first 30 seconds to gain an appreciation of Robert's philosophy.

And let me tell you, retirement is great!
