I know that probably sounds like I got lots of playing in and made lots of great [ha] music but... nope that ain't it... in fact I wasn't even able to really play more than a couple minutes this weekend.

What I did do was go to a couple of really awesome shows.

Friday night... The Yardbirds. They were awesome, each player was truly great but Johnny A ['Lead' guitar] and Kenny Aaronson [bass] were especially awesome. They are working on a new album that should be coming out in 2018. They played for about 1.5 hours...

Saturday night... Matt Schofield had a truly awesome power trio... bass, drums and guitar. Again everyone was exceptional. They did an incredible 2 hour set...

Is it possible to be both full motivated and de-motivated at the same time!!! 😉

It this in proximity to your abode, Chris?  Or did ye travel to the den of iniquity, Bah-ston?

Well, to be present for Train Kept a Rollin sounds like fun.  I see Aaronson played with Billy Idol and Joan Jett.  Would've been an extra kick to hear their version of Dazed and Confused.

Schofield has some funky blues rhythms rolling on the live videos- sounds like a great weekend.

I'm in southern New Hampshire... about an hour north of Bah-ston.... The older I get the closer to home I like things! Both of these shows were at a place called The Bull Run about 30 minutes from home. They have some great shows there and when I am lucky they fall on weekends!

We will be going back there to see Larry Carlton in about a month.

Chris, sounds like a couple great shows.  I just found out Mike Zito is going to be here December 7.  Then the week after Davy Knowles is going to be here.  Both are at a cozy little bar where no one is very far from the stage.

We've seen Mike Zito several times and he always puts on a great show.  The time before last I got to talking to him and shared that I was trying to learn guitar and he gave me his phone number and said anytime I have a question to call him!

It will be great to see Davy Knowles because he is going to be on the blues cruise we are going on.  It will be somewhat of a preview for the cruise.

And I can relate to the "closer to home".  Both of these shows are put on by our local blues society.  They always start the shows at 6 so us geezers can be home in bed not too much past our normal bedtime!!!!

Davey Knowles- Ron we got to see him perform acoustic at the Elks Club stage in Lancaster, PA.  Very Eddy Vedder.

Hope you get a full share of Knowles and Zito!

Ron... Both Davy Knowles and Mike Zito have appeared on my radar but I haven't seen either of them yet... Davy K. is actually playing tomorrow night at the same place I spent Friday and Saturday nights... One of the people I got to talking with at Matt S show was raving about both Davy Knowles and Mike Zito...

The problem is that both of these guys are getting weekday shows... and traffic and time are just too tough to handle my going on a weeknight.

You get some great players out there at your local Blues Society. Sounds like a great venue too...

Davy Knowles sounds like a great guy... IIRC didn't you have a similar encounter with Mike Zito...?
