Thoughts?  Compare and contrast?

I need to use one of these and quit with the scribbled chord diagrams.  But I don't want to invest a lot of time learning one to find the other would serve me better.  Who has used one or the other and can share the experience?  Is one dramatically better?

@JestMe, if memory serves you had posted about one.

Yes sir! Here is a quick rundown of what I know...

Guitar Scientist -

  •   FREE
  •   Online
  •   They just came out with a new updated version...
  •   They have a library of user created diagrams - What you need may already be done.
  •   Looks to be very comprehensive
  •   Easy to use

Neck Diagrams [I have PRO version - since before Guitar Scientist was available]

  •   3 versions - Most popular version [PRO] is $55
  •   Computer installed
  •   Very comprehensive
  •   Easy to use

My best suggestion would be forget about the scribbled diagrams. Get a notebook and create some awesome custom designed diagrams that suit your needs.

I would say try out Guitar Scientist for free. I expect it should meet all of our needs. Take a look in the diagram library to see if they already have a diagram that you are wanting. If that doesn't seem like a good fit for you, Neck Diagrams II is a great alternative.

Chris, I went with Neck Diagrams and already seeing the benefits.  Primarily I chose it because it installs on disk and I don't have to have internet access to use.  I'm not sure why that's important; I can't imagine a situation that I would use it/need it that I don't have internet access.  But in the back of my mind......

I'm working on an Eagles song, "Peaceful, Easy Feeling" and printed out the F#min7, the Esus4, abd have them on the music stand alongside the sheet music!  And I can read them!!!! 😉

Sending you an email with a couple more points about it.  Thanks again for the direction.

I agree with Robert, it's a great product. I got on board with it, years back when it first came out. I have upgraded as the newer versions became available.

Which version do you guys have?

I have the Pro. I like the scale generator and being able to copy diagrams into other apps.

Ron, I hope you like it. I'll keep an eye out for your email and will be glad to help out if I can.
