Well, slap a couple extra shrimp on the ole Barbie for me there, Mr. Grillmaster! I just saw everyone's guitar friend Tim Pierce interview a dude who's an absolute expert on Mr. Gilmour and his classic effects and amps and pre amps from back when.......you've shared some of this before Bob but what again is your foot switch combo/amp set up..........only if you don't mind sharing. The coolest thing about these effects is 1) One can play this for hours experimenting with tones and settings (not to mention 'other' things unrelated to effects or guitars!!) and 2) when you resort back to playing 'dry' it's almost shocking how simplistic or plain basic it all sounds but.......it's still great to practice sans too many effects (reverb, tone and some overdrive perhaps) to really learn how to dig out all those natural tones and sustain and clear string bends!! Very cool and makes me want to run out and buy what you got over there and down under!!  Jim C.

Craig, really digging the patience and space on that track.  Tell me your mind was elsewhere in the cosmos while those fingers were channeling it all back to the strings and through the effects loop.

Well, that manicuring sure worked well!

Huge sound you got there. Epic. Sweet notes you played. Lots of feeling! I dig it.

You've got to tell us how you created these cool sounds.

Did you make the backing track?

Yeah Sounds great. Awesome job. I'm also wondering about the track... home made? Well done.

Thanks everyone,

For those who asked the backing track is downloaded from You Tube and converted to Mp3 using VLC player .  Then doubled tracked in my DAW to really make it pop with those deep bass and crystal cymbal splashes. If you want a copy here 'tis

Now to create those beautiful guitar tones I used Guitar Rig from Native Instruments. I have been experimenting for eons with all of the components ( and there are a lot!) to get that Gilmour depth and tone.  Many sleepless moments and frustratingly annoying.

There are three guitars in total the first is over the intro before the drums kick in.

This screen shot only shows about 1/3 of all the components I added

The other 2 guitars are separate tracks combined to make the one sound with different Guitar Rig Configs.

Im really happy with the resulting sounds.

What makes it possible to create this tune is a Focusrite Scarlett 2i 4 .  It reduces latency to zero.

I can configure my DAW with a backing track playlist with all Guitar rig tracks preconfigured and rock up to a gig with nothing more than my Guitar, laptop and Focusrite and plug into the PA (if its decent ( or use my AMP on a clean channel)) and be ready to play.

It sounds great... like a it was created by someone with a lot of recording and Guitar Rig experience.  😎 Thanks for sharing.
